ABOUT THE DAY
Feel a little run-down? In need of some you time? Why not join us for our reflective wellbeing day? It’s the perfect space to meet in a calm environment, enjoy some mindfulness, creativity and nature, all whilst having the chance to give some feedback on the service you love.
The day will include:
- 10-10:15am – Refreshments and introductions
- 10:15-11am – a mindfulness workshop with Dominic
This one off workshop offers practical tips for how to incorporate mindfulness into daily activities which can help to relieve stress and anxiety, while increasing pleasure in the present moment.
We will begin the group with a guided three minute breathing space meditation which is an opportunity to help ground you into the moment.
Then we will discuss ways mindfulness could be practiced during certain daily activities, this can be done by bringing our awareness into our physical senses. Doing so can give one a reprieve from our busy minds and more pleasure of the present moment filled with kindness, compassion and non-judgement – which are the three key principles.
- 11-11:15am – Comfort break
- 11:15am-12pm – a contour drawing session with Natasha and Charlotte
This creative session is perfect for all levels, with no drawing experience needed. Perfect for anyone interested in sparking their creativity and finding a bit of creative flow in an easily accessible guided space.
- 12-12:30pm – a free lunch
- 12:30-1pm – a reflective space for feedback led by Jemima
This Reflective Space is an opportunity for us all to contemplate on the positive impact that activities like today’s can have on our wellbeing. We’d also love to hear your thoughts on how you feel today has been and any other comments you may have for us. We value your feedback and it’s so important for us to listen so we can continue to improve.
- 1pm – A wonderful walk facilitated by the YMCA
A beautiful walk around the Watercolour Lakes, taking around 90 minutes. The walk will leave from the Wingfield Resource Centre.
CAPTURING THE MOMENT
To help new people joining Community Connections feel as comfortable as possible, and get a better sense of what groups and courses look like, we would love to take this opportunity to take some pictures for our website. We will forward you any images that we would like to use for your approval before we use them.
There will, of course, be the option to opt out for those who are not comfortable, but we would really greatly appreciate the consent of anyone who is willing to take part, even if this is just in photography without faces, as this is a massive help to others looking to find out more about the types of groups and events they are signing up to.
WHO CAN JOIN THESE SESSIONS
Anyone currently registered with Community Connections. Please note that there are a maximum of 15 spaces for the day to be delivered on a first come, first served basis, so please sign up as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
HOW THE DAY WILL BE RUN
